 The Gloria is the culmination of many years of development and innovation by Baby Lock. It is an 8-thread coverlock (combined overlocker/coverstitch) machine full of features that mean the sky’s the limit!  It offers an amazing variety of 87 stitch options including overlock, flatlock, rolled hem, chain and cover stitches as well as Baby Lock's exclusive Wave/reverse wave stitch. You can chain off continuously from cover stitch and also combine stitches to form expressive and decorative 8 thread stitches, up to 16mm wide.
It is straightforward to adjust stitch length and width and to change between coverstitching and overlocking, and you also have the ability to vary the sewing speed; the adjustable control determines the maximum speed, allowing you to focus fully on your sewing project whenever intricate work requires high precision and your full attention.

This top-of-the-line model features amazing technology to help you step onfidently into the creative world of overlocking and coverstitching. The RevolutionAir™ system gives automated air-assisted instant looper and needle threading at the push of a button, removing what can be a fiddly and time consuming task in other machines, and giving you more time to focus on your projects. The Automatic Thread Delivery™ (ATD) System and stitch selector mean you no longer have to worry about thread tension adjustment. All your stitches will now look perfect, no matter what your choice of fabric from thick to thin, or sewing thread from an ultrafine through to a strong thread.

Presser foot pressure can be adjusted separately to achieve great results on different thicknesses of fabric. And the extra high 6mm presser foot lift allows those thicker fabrics to move easily under the foot, while vertical needles give penetration without damage. And the Gloria’s advanced knife driving and one-way clutch system allow thicker fabrics such as denim or corduroy to be cut with ease and increased visibility.

Say goodbye to frustrating unwanted puckering or wavy seams with knitwear or very fine fabrics. The adjustable Differential Feed (0.6 – 2.0:1) gives all stitches a perfect look. The Fabric Support System keeps stitches flat and balanced, no matter what speed, fabric or stitch you choose. The built-in stitch fingers actually move with the knife blade, adjusting the seam consecutively with the cutting width.

The presser foot knee lifter means you can keep your hands on your sewing at all times for precise control, avoiding the slipping and movement of more delicate or heavy fabrics while the presser foot is lifted.

You can now choose different kinds of yarns and use them together for sewing on the Gloria.The bypass port and guide for special thread makes it easy to thread in textured yarns or other thicker special-effect yarns for neautiful results.

The Gloria’s large work space gives you 5” to the right of the needle, so you have plenty of room to move large amounts of fabric, and can work on larger projects with ease. On the Gloria, Baby Lock have also incorporated a 4-Holes sewing table, which allows you to use Knit Woven Bias Binders. Six LED lights illuminate your entire working area, letting you see your threads and fabrics clearly. Better lighting means you’ll have more confidence to try new stitches and techniques. You’ll see how even the smallest details make the biggest difference.

The Gloria has four built-in safety switches that mean it can’t start sewing with the side or front cover open, nor with the presser foot lifted or the needle threader engaged. Its ingenious magnetic needle catch tray is another helpful safety feature. Accessories are stored close at hand in a convenient storage area. Baby Lock's patented looper drive system keeps the loopers aligned and in time, reducing the possibility of major damage.

RevolutionAir™ looper and needle threading
To thread the Gloria's loopers, insert thread into one of the threading ports, push the button and a gust of air quickly pushes it through the patented tubular loopers, exactly where you need it every time. The loopers can be threaded individually or simultaneously; tangles, knots and breakage are now a thing of the past! The needle is threaded just as quickly using the RevolutionAir™ needle threader; just hold the thread in front of the needle and with the push of a button the needle is threaded . Baby Lock’s RevolutionAir™ Threading makes setting up your machine faster and easier than ever, every single time. You can thread in any order and you can even change any thread without re-threading the others. With this exclusive system, threadng can be completed in less than one minute - imagine how much time you will save without threading worries!

Differential Feed
Stretch fabrics often cause problems such as puckering or distorted seams that leave you in despair. Thanks to its differential feed, the Gloria guarantees an optimum feed of stretch fabrics and thus prevents puckering or protruding seams. You can also use the Gloria's differential feed to produce fanciful gathering or stretching effects. Baby Lock have taken the differential feed mechanism to a new level by adding a single unit feed dog mechanism. This ensures stronger feeding as well as more consistent gathering on all fabrics.

Automatic Thread Delivery™ System
Set the Gloria to the type of stitch you want and get started! The Gloria has three sensors (stitch length, stitch width and fabric thickness) which allow it to deliver a balanced stitch on any fabric with any type of thread. Even handling difficult fabrics becomes child‘s play because the machine always provides the correct setting to achieve an optimum sewing result. The thread quality is irrelevant. Whether a sturdy yarn or an ultra-thin thread, the seams always look neat. The ATD System lays the thread on the fabric as each stitch is formed. The fabric is not responsible for pulling the threads through the tension discs as on other overlockers. Which means there’s no stress placed on the fabric, allowing it to flow under the foot without being stretched or damaged. This allows you to sew from delicate silk chiffon through to lycra and layers of denim or fleece without tension!

Presser foot pressure adjustment
The new presser foot pressure dial of the Baby Lock Gloria allows you to handle all kinds of material or fabric individually. Regardless of whether your fabrics are fine, firm or heavy – the presser foot pressure is easily adjusted to the respective requirements. Thanks to the easy-read scale, you can precisely find the basic setting and adjust the controller for lighter and heavier materials

Exclusive Wave stitch
Simply change the selector to ‘WAVE’ and thread the machine with decorative threads to create a beautiful decorative edging stitch, which can also be combined with coverstitches or be sewn as a flat lock wave stitch or reverse wave stitch. Different wave stitch results can be achieved by changing the decorative threads in the upper and lower loopers. For a stitch as unique as the wave stitch, Baby Lock wanted to ensure that each wave would be even with the next. To do so, they created a thread delivery unit to give each one a flawless look.

Changing from coverstitch to overlocking
The Gloria reduces the number of steps needed to change the needles when switching from cover stitch to overlock stitch, making this task even more simple than it is on other models. After taking the needles out of the needle clamp, the fastening screws don‘t have to be tightened by hand.

Accessory storage
Don’t waste time searching for the correct Gloria accessory. The handy accessory compartment under the thread spool holder contains all important tools. The Gloria's spacious accessory compartment can be unfolded without the cones changing their position. The thread configuration does not change and the seams do not loose their perfect look. You can leave the compartment open and use the included standard accessories while you are sewing. The compartment contains spare parts, tweezers and a brush with a needle insert, among other things

Verticle needle penetration
While most machines use slanted needles that push and can damage fabric, Baby Lock's needles are set vertically and sew directly up and down. This exclusive feature protects your fabric, gives great penetration power on thicker fabrics, and minimises needle deflection and breakage.

Tubular loopers
The Baby Lock Gloria features a compact tubular looper system that guarantees fuss-free, quick threading. Extra-strong loopers in a quality similar to that used in industry make your Baby Lock Gloria fit for more difficult tasks.There’s no exposed thread, no thread guides and you can thread in any order! Tubular loopers eliminate threading mistakes and protect the thread for more stitching freedom
