The Bernina 475 Quilters Edition is compact, but powerful enough to handle even the thickest layers of large quilts, with consistent thread tension to ensure every stitch is perfect.

The Bernina 475 QE offers a total of 840 stitch patterns including 29 utility stitches, 10 buttonholes, 200 decorative stitches, 13 cross-stitches, and 4 alphabets. A special feature of this machine is the inclusion of 40 quilting stitches. Stitches can be combined or edited, and saved in memory, and stitch settings can be changed while sewing. You can choose stitch length and width, and change the needle position. If you want the needle down when it stops, you can. This control is available at your fingertips on the large, intuitive touch screen, or via the multi-function knobs on the front of the machine. The on-screen, there-when-you-need-it, Sewing Consultant helps you find the right settings.

The Bernina Hook system keeps every stitch consistent and precise on the 475QE. It incorporates a jumbo bobbin that holds up to 70% more thread than standard bobbins means fewer stops and starts with your sewing. And since it is conveniently changed from the front, there’s no need to remove your project to access it.

The extended freearm offers 7 inches to the right of the needle and gives plenty of room for quilts and other larger projects. There’s also a slide-on freearm extension table that adds room and support around the needle.
A variety of Bernina presser feet come with the B475 QE, including the Patchwork Foot (#37) making it easy to achieve your desired results. To keep these handy and organised, a nicely designed accessory case is included. Feet aren’t the only accessory included; in addition to the slide-on extension table, four bobbins and a knee lifter complete the smart accessory package, wth a dust cver included to protct your machine when not in use.

The Adjustable foot pressure functionality adjusts for thick or thin fabric to eliminate skipped stitches. The Bernina Adaptive Thread Tension system is a great innovation which ensures the ideal thread tension as you sew, helping you to achieve perfect stitch quality on both sides of the fabric. After you set the thread tension for the thread and fabric, the Bernina Adaptive Thread Tension continuously checks it as you sew, adjusting it unobtrusively and automatically whenever necessary, resulting in the finest sewing quality, with no need to even press a button. The automatic thread cutter is another useful function of the 475QE, cutting the thread and raising the needle in an easy one-button operation.

Bernina Free Hand System (FHS) capability is built in to the 475 Quilters Edition, with the knee lifter required to use ir included in the accessory package. FHS gives you the capability to raise or lower the presser foot while simultaneously lowering the feed dog without having to take your hands off the fabric, ideal for quilting.

This machine is also Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR) enabled .The BSR foot regulates perfect, equal-length straight and zigzag stitches at variable sewing speeds during free-motion quilting. The BSR foot is an additional optional purchase, which means this machine can grow in the future with your quilting ambitions.
