The Janome Continental M7 Professional is a machine for the sewer who wants to be able to tackle anything, from intricate craft projects, to garment making, large quilts, or heavy-weight home furnishing projects!

It has the largest sewing space available on any household use machine: a 452mm (17.81”) all metal seamless flatbed, with  343mm (13.5”) of workspace to the right of the needle. The extension table included with the machine also has a handy accessory storage drawer.

Its powerful brushless motor also means it’s the industry's fastest drop-in bobbin home sewing machine, stitching at up to 1300 stitches a minute. This advanced motor also provides powerful penetration and needle force for the most heavyweight projects., while the full metal frame combined with Janome’s high standards for vibration suppression mean you can be sure of a precise, stable and smooth sewing experience even when sewing at high speeds.

The M7 is perfect for the full range of home sewing; from garment sewing and quilting, to seriously heavy-weight home furnishing projects. It comes with 400 built-in stitches (including 12 buttonholes and 4 fonts including 9mm letters and numbers). Each stitch, including buttonholes, can be customised and saved. Stitch length and width are variable, and some stitches can be elongated by up to 5 times. The Stitch Composer software even allows you to create your own unique stitches and import them to the machine, where they can be kept in the machine’s memory.

Sewing Applications gives you guidance and access to a wide variety of pre-set stitch functions, including an extensive quilting menu plus sewing foot menu. The Quilt Block Advisor function automatically calculates quilt patterns, and Memorised Quilt Seaming means you can cruise through stitching a large number of the same block. The variable zig zag, stitch tapering, and ruler work function allow your quilting creativity to flourish. The automatic presser foot lift, adjustable foot pressure, electronic knee lift, optical bobbin sensor, and automatic tension control definitely make quilting easier.

Quilters will also love the the built-in AcuFeed™ Flex system for precise fabric handling, and the computerised one-touch needle plate change for enhanced straight stitch performance (the machine comes with standard, straight stitch and High Performance needle plates, and High Performance feet, ideal for accurate 1/4 “ seams.  

The new SFS-i, Intelligent Feed System manages the feed dogs so you can position your fabric easily and then sew with perfect security.

The large 7” LCD colour touch screen (with stylus) and 9 LED lights in 4 locations mean that its always easy to see what you’re doing. And for added help and inspiration the new Janome AcuSpark app (accessed via the machines QR code) has videos, instructions and tips.

Intelligent Feed System (SFSi)
The new SFS-i intelligent feeding system is designed to keep the feed dogs down and out of the way, so that you can easily position your fabric where you want it to be. As soon as you start sewing, the feed dogs come up and perfectly grab the fabric. The feed dog system stays parallel as it moves up and down, maintaining constant contact with the fabric and giving better control, whether sewing forward or backward.

AcuFeed Flex™ Plus layered fabric feeding system
Janome's AcuFeed Layered Fabric Feeding System has long been legendary in the sewing and quilting world for its amazing precision and power. Janome has now taken it to the next level with AcuFeed™ Flex Plus. The system is still removable but, adding and removing it from the machine has become more advanced - simply touch the AcuFeed icon on your screen to engage or disengage the foot. This ensures that the AcuFeed Flex foot is attached correctly and prevents it from becoming dis-engaged prematurely. AcuFeed™ Flex comes in three useful options. The two-pronged AcuFeed™ feet advance fabric flawlessly from the top and bottom. Use this system for quilting, seaming, and traditional sewing. Our special onepronged AcuFeed™ feet give precise control for more detailed work, like installing zippers and matching seams. And, our HP2 AcuFeed Flex foot is designed to work with our HP plate, for the highest level of stitch results.

Computerised One Touch Needleplate Converter / HP foot
Using the right tools at the right time is important. When using lightweight fabrics, or piecing quilts, a straight stitch needle plate makes all the difference. The M7's Computerised One Touch Plate Converter allows you to easily switch and use the perfect plate for your project. Simply push the on-screen button to release the plate and place a new one in place. The M7 will automatically retract the new plate into place using a patented magnetic system. No screwdrivers necessary! The system also has a sensor which allows only an appropriate stitch to be sewn with the straight stitch needle plate in place, so no need to worry about breaking a needle! The M7 comes with three standard needle plates: zigzag, straight stitch and High Performance. The HP foot also included with the M7 is a  narrow gauge industrial type foot for curves and precise topstitching. It provides great ease of control and superior visibility. Sized perfectly for creating 1/4” seams, achieving accurate stitches and perfect starts on any type of fabric

Variable Zig Zag™ function / open toe Zig Zag foot
The Continental M7 includes a Variable Zig Zag feature, which gives you precise control over the stitch width. Begin with a straight stitch, then while the machine is running, press against the knee lifter to widen your stitch up to a maximum 9mm zigzag (you can edit the maximum width in the machine's settings mode). Release pressure to gradually return to a straight stitch for a tapered finish. This advanced feature opens up amazing new possibilities for free motion quilting, thread painting, raw edge appliqué, and more. The new open toe Variable Zigzag (VZZ) foot (QZ) makes it easy to follow your stitch progress when using this unique Janome function. Ruler Quilting
Expand your quilting options and take advantage of the wide array of precision templates on the market for ruler-guided quilting. Engage the Ruler Work mode in Sewing Applications and use the Ruler Work foot (QR) to safely follow along the guiding edge of precision cut templates. Stitch Tapering Function
Create original designs for borders and decorative effects with the Stitch Tapering Function. This distinctive feature allows you to adjust stitches at a 30, 45, 90, and 120 angle to combine and edit built-in stitches. Apply this specialized technique through 41 stitches with the Tapering function.

Open-Toe Darning Foot
For quilters who prefer to free motion with a darning foot, an opening in the front is a must! This open-toe darning foot makes the needle very easy to see.

Quarter Inch Foot without Guide
Quilters know that a precise quarter inch seam is the key to precision-pieced patterns. The new flangeless Quarter Inch foot removes the guide from Janome's traditional O foot for improved visibility and exact seam placement.

Improved ergonomic knee lift
The knee lift has been designed to make it ergonomic and adjustable to accommodate sewists of most any size or height. You can now sit directly in front of the needle with the knee lift perfectly positioned for free-motion quilting, variable zig zag, or general sewing.

Auto Presser Foot Lift
The auto presser foot lift automatically lifts the presser foot after a thread cut – when the thread snip button is pressed, or after a programmed thread cut at the end of a row of decorative stitches - allowing you to keep your hands on your project at all times. It can also be set to raise at the end of any seam, with the needle in the down position for easy pivoting . This useful feature simplifies the sewing process – you have fewer manual steps, saving time and increasing efficiency

Large work area plus extension table
The 343mm (13.5”) of work area to the right of the needle is a pleasure to work on, especially for larger projects such as quilts, wedding dresses or large home furnighing projects. Once the large extension table is attached, the total work space is significantly increased.

Optical Bobbin Sensor
For everyone who has sewn a long seam, only to find that your bobbin thread ran out after the first few inches, our advanced Optical Bobbin Monitoring System is for you. Janome technology allows the M7 to constantly watch your bobbin thread supply while sewing, so that you will receive a warning as soon as the bobbin thread gets low, not when it’s too late at the end of your seam.

Stitch Composer™
Can you ever have enough decorative stitches? This machine comes with 350 stitches but there are times when you just can’t find the perfect one. The unique Stitch Composer™ programme allows you to create and edit your own unique stitches on your computer, then transfer them to your sewing machine via the USB port. Stitch Composer™ is the  perfect way to personalise your projects and expand your creativity.
