Janome Fringe Foot (Tailor-Tacking Foot) - Category C

The Fringe Foot, also known as the "Tailor-Tacking Foot", is perfect for decorative work and especially effective in appliqué work. The raised bar at the front of the foot causes the thread to stand away from the fabric. Using a simple wide zig-zag stitch you will end up with large looped stitches. Cut the loop close to one side of the stitches. whichever side you want the fringe to be free on, and you'll have made your own thread fringe! With this foot you can create beautiful surface texture, custom trims, fringe flowers and appliqué

 

You can also use the foot to create traditional tailors tacks. If using it for tailor tacking, once the thread loops are formed, pull the fabric slightly apart and cut. What you will have is perfect thread markings on your fabric.
